Cupcakes, who doesn’t love them? The perfect sized little treat, and this week, on the 10th November, it just so happens to be National Vanilla Cupcake day! What a great excuse to have a cheeky little cupcake or two! I have put together a list of where to find some of the yummiest and beautifully decorate cupcakes. They all do vanilla flavour of course, but be sure to try out their ‘ambassador’ cupcake. Each bakery has one and it’s normally , the most popular cupcake for each respective bakery.

If you’re looking for award winning cupcakes, then Flavourtown has got you covered. They started back in 2013 with one objective, to make the finest cupcakes London had ever tasted. Two locations and a handful of awards later they may have achieved their goal! They have now added amazing vegan and gluten-free options to their in-store and online menus. Cupcakes that taste so good you’d never be able to tell they were missing butter, dairy , eggs and wheat.
Be sure to try the ‘Posh Peanut Butter Cupcake’ which won the Great Taste Gold award 2016. Made with a peanut butter and choc chip sponge cupcake base, frosted with a peanut butter mousse then dipped in dark chocolate and sprayed gold- Yum! If cupcakes are too small for you they also have a range of cakes, brownies, pies, cookies…you name it!

If you’re looking for cupcakes then this is your place, they are open 7 day a week plus they have an online store so they can cater to your sweet carvings at any time or day! Crumbs and Dollies makes everything from amazing cakes and cupcakes to delicious brownies and free form treats! Visit their shop in Soho where they bake an entirely new menu of sweet treats every day of the week.
Be sure to try the ‘Homer’ Cupcake, a vanilla funfetti sponge base cupcake, frosted with vanilla butter cream and dripped in milk chocolate topped with a pink mini ‘Simpson’ inspired doughnut – Cute yet naughty! Sadly, its only available in store but can get a full cake version online!

Tarek Malouf openned the Hummingbird Bakery in 2004 and has since expanded to over six locations around London and the Surrey area and is now breaking into Dubai. His original goal for this bakery was to bring American-style baked treats and desserts to Londoners. I think it’s safe to say he has succeeded in his goal as his many bakeries now offer American-style cupcakes, layer cakes, brownies, pies, cheesecakes, vegan treats and much much more.
Be sure to try the Lemon Meringue cupcake, made with vanilla sponge cupcake based filled with Lemon curd and topped with Italian meringue that has be blow torched on top. Absolutely unreal!

Intolerant, vegan or just likes cupcakes, you’ll be fine here. This Brixton indie cake shop has all the bases covered as its the first fully vegan bakery in London. All treats on their menu are 100% vegan and dairy free.
Be sure to try their Ambassador cupcake , made with a chocolate and hazel sponge base covered in chocolate hazel spread rolled in crushed hazelnut nuts, tastes like a Ferrero Rocher on steroids.

Marley’s Cupcakes was created with the goal of creating delicious bite-sized cupcakes made from scratch using the best ingredients.
