The 2022 Grand National will take place on Saturday 9th April 2022 and will take place (as almost always) at the Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool, England. It’s promising to be a great day out. When four of Liverpool’s most talented chefs – headed up by The Art School’s Paul Askew – get together to open a restaurant, you know it’s going to be something special. Barnacle on the mezzanine of Duke Street Market was launched in November by Paul, Bone and Block’s Harry Marquart and chefs Kieran Gill and Jake Lewis, focusing on contemporary cooking and locally-sourced organic dishes inspired by our city’s maritime history.

If a trip to Sicily isn’t on the cards for 2022, that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on authentic Sicilian food because Carlisi on Dale Street is serving it up from brunch to late-night spritzes. There’s panini and focaccia for lunch, street food, a bruschetta bar, charcuteria which is made for sharing, and some unbelievable sweet filled cannoli which you’ll probably want to keep all to yourself.
